PROJECT DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR
Purpose Of Award
This award is to recognize a senior level executive who is a champion or sponsor of projects with/within an organization. The person must have demonstrated great leadership and support to achieving projects goals and overall contribution to strategic objectives.This award is to recognize a senior level executive who is a champion or sponsor of projects with/within an organization. Eligibility Criteria
-- Must be in a Senior Management role, Director or Executive Level
-- Projects were done within an organizational context (for/with a company, agency or institution).
--Project must have been completed prior to submission of nomination.
--Project should be of a reasonable minimum budget.
--Project of any type, from any industry, in the public or private sectors.
Non-Eligibility Criteria
-- Project was done outside Ghana
PROJECT OF THE YEAR AWARD
Purpose Of Award
To recognize superior performance and impact of project management practice. The project of the year would have involved complex situations and/or large projects; involved dexterous navigation to implement; completed to meet stakeholders' requirements; and fit for intended purpose.
Eligibility Criteria
--Project was done within an organizational context (for/with a company, agency or institution).
--Project must have been completed prior to submission of nomination.
--Project should be of a reasonable minimum budget.
--Project of any type, from any industry, in the public or private sectors.
Non-Eligibility Criteria
-- Project was done outside Ghana
PROJECT MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Purpose of Award
This award is to recognize, highlight and encourage excellence in the project manager role of a project delivery, in/with an organization. Among other competing project managers, The aim of this award is to recognize an individual who has demonstrated outstanding competence
in the management of one or more projects, and excellent leadership of their project team, motivating them to achieve or even exceed the project objectives and customer expectations. In achieving this excellence, the individual should have clearly demonstrated the use of project management methodology and best practices in the delivery of the project. The competency exhibited in the use of project management
standards and how they contributed to the success of the project must be evident. The desired outcome of such excellent delivery of the project must have a significant impact for the organization, the public or both.
Eligibility Criteria
--Project must have been completed prior to submission of nomination.
--The nominee may have managed the project in any field.
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Project completed before or in 2023.
--A member of the project team, who was not deemed the project manager does not qualify as a nominee.
BEST STARTUP PROJECT OF THE YEAR
Purpose of Award
The success of Startup projects is critical to drive economic change, as well as culture and mindset shifts to improve the socio-economic lives of people. This Award is to recognize individuals who have shown creativity, talent and innovation with the application of Project Management “Best Practices” to execute any type of project, meeting a “Specific Need” and has shown outstanding achievements in business and service to the Ghanaian Society.
Eligibility Criteria
--Project qualifies as a Start-Up Project (less than 5 years old of incorporation in Ghana)
--Project that meets a “Specific” identified Social, Economic & Environmental need of the Ghanaian Society.
--Project that has demonstrable application of Project Management “Best Practices” during its implementation.
--Project must have been owned by a Ghanaian Citizen
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Project that is “Awaiting Funding” or at the Conceptual stage.
--Project which is NOT in operation.
--Project at the “Piloting Phase” or in Incubation.
--Project sponsored by a Political Party.
--Project that does not meet any Social, Economic & Environmental need of the Ghanaian Society.
--Project that did NOT apply any demonstrable Project Management “Best Practices”.
--Project funded by an Organization and intended to be used as a Business Model for the Organization in future.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT COMPANY OF THE YEAR
Purpose of Award
To recognize distinct excellence and consistent delivery of value from project management activities. The organization has a verifiable track record of project success, effective stakeholder management and strong contribution to strategic objectives. The organization improves project management knowledge base and is an epitome of organizational project management excellence
Eligibility Criteria
--Companies across industry, in the public or private sectors.
--Project management practices were implemented within an organizational context (by a company, agency or institution)
--The organization should have verifiable best practices in project management
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Company/Institution not incorporated in Ghana
DISTINGUISHED CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT AWARD
Purpose of Award
This award recognizes the promotion of excellence in project management practice, education,promotion and certification in Ghana; bringing recognition to the project management community or company in Ghana.Nominee(s) should have made an outstanding contribution to the practice of the project management profession in Ghana by demonstrating significant thought-leadership and initiative in advancing project management concepts, techniques, practices, or theories through the effective application and/or advancement of project management knowledge and principles.
Eligibility Criteria
--The individual may be nominated from any field, including business, government, non-profit, academia, research, consulting, training, etc.
--The nominee must be based in Ghana
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Project Management references are outside Ghana
INNOVATIVE PROJECT AWARD
Purpose of Award
To recognize highly innovative, high-impact projects that could ultimately lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate the field of project management. Projects deemed innovative may introduce a new paradigm; challenge current paradigms; look at existing project problems from new perspectives; or exhibit other uniquely creative qualities. The Innovative Project Award promotes unexplored ideas in project management, peculiar to the needs and demands of our environment.
Eligibility Criteria
--Nominated projects should not fall within the category of “the next logical step” of previous projects, but should have a high probability of discovering new avenues of investigation, if successful.
--Project of any type, across industries; in the public or private sectors.
--Project from anywhere in Africa, with Ghanaian participation.
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Innovative projects without appropriate copyrights.
DONOR PROJECT OF THE YEAR
Purpose of Award
The recipient of this award is an international donor-funded project that was most successful in achieving intended impact, quality and coverage by strict adherence to the Five Principles of Project Management in the Development Sector. The project would therefore show very good project planning during all the phases of a typical development project. In other words, this project shows that project management is Balanced, Comprehensive, Integrated, Participatory and interactive throughout the Project Life-Cycle
Eligibility Criteria
--Project should have been implemented in Ghana.
--Multilateral, government bilateral and private donors
--Submissions may be from donor organizations and/or Implementing Agencies.
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Company/Institution is wholly owned by Ghanaians
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT PROJECT AWARD
Purpose of Award
Environment problems are increasingly becoming more severe as demonstrated by climate change. This award seeks to identify and recognize projects that are safeguarding the future of the planet and creating a sustainable environment within which to live healthy and
fulfilling lives. Projects with a focus on the conservation of resources; improving the quality of air and water; energy efficiency; use of renewable energy sources; recycling; or creating awareness for these areas.
Eligibility Criteria
--All nominees/organizations should be resident/based in Ghana.
--Nominated project should demonstrate significance and impact on the environment.
--Nominated project should demonstrate good project management practice.
--Manager of nominated project should be able to provide both qualitative and quantitative data to support nomination.
--Project should be completed, and intended benefits measured
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Uncompleted projects
--Projects without any relation to the sustainability and environmental fields
SOCIAL IMPACT PROJECT AWARD
Purpose of Award
This award seeks to recognize individuals or groups of persons who apply project management principles and methodology in rolling out initiatives and programs that serve the good of society. The purpose of such a project should be to bring about social change that will benefit or improve the lives of vulnerable Individuals, communities and society; or solve identifiable social problems.
The following are examples of types of projects that fall within this category:
a. An educational project that creates an opportunity to improve literacy and numeracy among children
b. A health project that seeks to create awareness or promote advocacy for the eradication of identifiable health conditions/diseases eg. Cholera, HIV Aids, maternal mortality, etc.
c. A project aimed at providing potable water or improving sanitation in a community.
d. A project that seeks to build the capacity of persons in deprived communities to become economically self-sufficient and improve their livelihood.
e. A project that seeks to eradicate or mitigate social problems such as streetism, child delinquency, etc
Eligibility Criteria
--Nominated projects must fall within list of areas outlined in the 'project definition and purpose' section.
--The project must be non-profit making.
--The project should have been completed within the last year with tangible social benefits.
--Ongoing projects whose expected social benefits have already started manifesting may be considered.
--The individual or group of persons executing on the project must be of Ghanaian nationality.
--Demonstrated use of project Management principles and methodology in the execution of the project.
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Social Impact Projects for which the nominee(s) derive financial or material gains
--Social impact projects that were carried out without a clear application of project management principles or methodology.
ECONOMIC IMPACT PROJECT AWARD
Purpose of Award
The Economic Impact Award recognizes projects for their financial performance, growth, revenue generation, wage generation, job creation and overall impact on the economy, either at the micro, meso, or macro-levels. This award is committed to demonstrating the value of economic development work for local communities; the pursuit of best practices in economic development through projects; and the attainment of the highest standards of professional conduct and competence in the project management space. Ultimately, the award honors community or mega projects that propel economic development efforts, which in-turn promotes growth and prosperity in communities.
Eligibility Criteria
--Projects completed over 12 months from the nomination deadline
--Project should be of a reasonable minimum budget.
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Newly completed projects with no tracer studies or data on post-project impact analysis
PROJECT TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD
Purpose of Award
This award is to recognize team efforts for successful projects execution. The team should have exhibited bravery, camaraderie, collaboration and excellent execution of projects. In addition, the team demonstrates collective responsibility and adaptable to change
Eligibility Criteria
--Projects should have been implemented by a team effort, with demonstrable input from team members
--Project should have been completed
Non-Eligibility Criteria
--Projects implemented by less than 3 persons
